Ministers’ Division Division Coordinator- Reverend James Brice Course # 9903 Reverend J. D. Palmer, Instructor The ethics and etiquette of the minister are important. This course will explore some of the temptations, pitfalls, and problems that could ensnare the minister, and how to handle them. It will look at the preacher’s appearance and his conduct in the pulpit, relationship to members, and professional behavior in all settings. Course # 9905 Reverend Archie Hicks, Instructor This course is designed to help the preacher in the art of sermon preparation and delivery. A great deal of time will be spent on identifying sermons and the choice of them to convey inspired thought in the preaching setting. The students will have a greater understanding of the importance of preaching and the difficulty involved in doing it well. Course # 9912 Reverend B P Cleaver, Instructor Young ministers will study such practical matters as church administration, staff relationships, community leadership, ministerial ethics, work with congregational management, and other professional issues not normally handled in a classroom setting. The students will review denominational structure and associational ministry. Discovering their spiritual gifts will prepare them to move into a meaningful area of service where they best fit into the body of Christ. This study will use the Parable of the Farmer Planting in I Corinthians Course # 8023 Sister Lola Pullum, Instructor This course is designed for High School Aged Children. It is to acquaint youth with some drug abuse problems and to familiarize them with warning signs. Students will learn what to look for, and how to establish relationships with youth and parents before or during a drug-related problem. Students will develop a needs assessment strategy for children suffering with emotional and psychological trauma and use this assessment toll in ministry to children in the local church.
